East Frisian Tea Company (OTG)
Founded in 1907, Ostfriesische Tee Gesellschaft, or OTG for short, has been programmed for growth for over 100 years. Its motto "OTG - We make more from tea" stands for the way: The largest subsidiary of Laurens Spethmann Holding is constantly working new enjoyment out of the traditional product tea, creating tea experience worlds, staging tea and developing new, tasty products. OTG senses trends early on and generates 20 percent of its sales with creations that are less than three years old. Meßmer MOMENTUM in Hamburg's HafenCity, for example, is one of the first brand spaces in Hamburg.
OTG invites you to take a look behind the scenes of one of Europe's major tea companies:
Coca Cola
More than 125 years ago, in 1886, Coca-Cola was invented in Atlanta. In Germany, the "Essener Vertriebsgesellschaft für Naturgetränke" bottled the first Coca-Cola in 1929. Since then, we have been firmly rooted in this country. At the start, over 85 years ago, there was initially only our classic Coca-Cola on the German market. That was soon to change. As early as 1940, a drink was invented in Essen that is now known worldwide: Fanta. Germany is one of the most important markets in Europe for The Coca-Cola Company.
Griesson - De Beukelaer
For over 55 years, you have been experiencing delicious pleasure with Prinzen Rolle: The Prinzen Rolle assortment includes not only our classic Prinzen Rolle cocoa, but also a variety of double cookie variations for a varied taste experience. Conveniently packaged for home and on the go, you'll find the right portion for every occasion with Prinzen Rolle.
Raffaello
Our company is already in its third generation of family ownership. And although Ferrero is growing continuously and is now an internationally active company, the entrepreneurial principles of the founders continue to shape each and every location to this day.
This includes the consistently pursued strategy of growing primarily from our own innovative strength and constantly launching new products on the market. Ferrero Germany is particularly involved in the development of production technologies. This is because the production of Ferrero's often sophisticated specialties requires real engineering skills: special know-how that is also put to use when new production sites are set up in other countries.
Bedford -delicate food
Sausage making is an art in itself. Salt-mild raw ham, gently matured salami, delicious cooked sausage, fine pâtés and hand-picked delicacies in aspic: Bedford has dedicated itself to the art of sausage making with heart and soul and has over 140 sausage and ham specialties in its range. Craftsmanship, attention to detail and the philosophy of company founder Piet Mutsaers - "There is no substitute for quality" - are trademarks and important prerequisites for the success of recent decades.
In 2012, for example, the family business, run by second-generation siblings Gabriele and Bert Mutsaers, generated sales of 57 million euros and employs over 320 people.
Bedford offers its products exclusively through the service counters of butcher stores, delicatessens and selected food retailers.
"As a partner to the butcher trade, we offer our customers an attractive bought-in range," says Bert Mutsaers. "Our high-quality sausage and ham products are characterized by a high proportion of artisanal production and thus perfectly complement our customers' range. This is how we want to continue to be successful in the future."
Dr. Oetker
Trust, sustainability and also credibility are extremely important factors in the Dr. Oetker family business. Almost all consumers - 96 percent in Germany (Gruner + Jahr Brigitte Communications Analysis 2012) - know the brand and place great trust in it. Repeated independent and representative surveys have shown that Dr. Oetker occupies a top position among German food brands and is also one of the most trusted food brands internationally. This is the result of over 100 years of trusting and sustainable dealings with this brand and its consumers.
Royal Meat
The EBLEX Quality Standard quality mark guarantees consumers the highest level of safety when purchasing and consuming the meat.
Quality Standard meat is selected according to the strictest criteria and independently controlled. Every step of the supply chain and production process - from farm to meat counter - is clearly traceable. The EBLEX quality mark is the only one in the UK to include the 'eating quality' component. This ensures consumers that the meat is of a consistently high eating quality: it is tender, juicy and aromatic - a special treat.
Fairtrade Africa
Coffee is the most important agricultural commodity in global North-South trade and the world's second most important export commodity after oil. As a former "colonial product", coffee is a particularly good illustration of the unfair conditions on the world market, and is the pioneer among Fairtrade products.
By buying Fairtrade coffee, you are making a valuable contribution to improving the living and working conditions of coffee farming families in countries of the Global South and helping to promote environmental protection. The coffee cooperatives are also supported in adapting to the changed climatic conditions caused by climate change.
Fairtrade Asia
There are still many problems and challenges in the textile sector. Starting with cotton production, the challenges run through the long, complex supply chains of textiles. Lack of transparency and the difficult living and working conditions of cotton farming families and workers further down the production chain often have dramatic consequences for people and the environment.
In order to create fair conditions throughout the supply chain, the Fairtrade Textile Standard and Textile Program have been in place since 2016. Together with the Fairtrade Cotton Standard, this allows all stakeholders in the production chain to be reached.
