Concept. Emergence.

Once upon a time...

It all began with the food academy in Neuwied. It was and is the only trade school for the German food trade. And has been for over 85 years. The academy's teachers qualify specialists and managers for their work in various sales locations. They train students to become retail specialists or retail business economists. Thanks to cooperation with universities and international academies, students at the food akademie can even complete bachelor's and master's degrees. But the more than 1,700 junior staff members per year also need somewhere to live. So why not just build a hotel? One that is modern and comfortable. With well-equipped conference rooms. With fantastic cuisine. And with that certain something.

Said. Done.

The ambitious project was realized and in 2010 the new and unique food hotel saw the light of day. With everything that young people need. A restaurant with delicious, sustainably prepared dishes. A cool bar with foosball, broadcasts of major sporting events and tasty drinks. And that certain something? That was provided by an obvious yet ingenious interior design concept. The food hotel became a supermarket-themed hotel.

The conversion.

In the following, we would like to provide you with all the important information regarding the design options within your godparent room. The room is divided into a living/sleeping area and a spacious bathroom. The hotel room is functionally fully equipped on site, so that the room sponsor has numerous options for his design concept, ranging from a bonding of the furniture, an additional equipment with furniture to the design of the ceiling. However, the food hotel reserves "the last word", i.e. to ensure a consistent supermarket concept, the design of the room must be agreed before realization.

I.1 Standard design

The furniture provided by the customer consists of a double bed, a desk and closet combination, a standard desk chair in beech, a table and an additional armchair. Furthermore, the room is usually equipped with a shelf combination (pantry). The basic material of the furniture is beams and shelves from supermarket shelving in anthracite color. The fronts are made of beech wood.

Beyond the "normal" design options, additional design options are conceivable in coordination.

For example, pictures can be attached to the walls and accessories can be provided to decorate the room. Alternatively, as a room sponsor, instead of pictures, you can put a large wall covering. The important thing here is that this can be removed without leaving any residue, just like a picture, when the room sponsor ends his sponsorship. Furthermore, we recommend integrating the desk chair, the armchair and the table as part of the overall concept if possible, i.e. providing your own furniture.

This type of design is outside the basic equipment of the room.
In addition to the on-site privacy curtains and the interior window blinds, the room sponsor can install an additional decorative curtain blind in the selected design line at his own expense. However, it is essential to ensure that the color white is used on the window side so that a uniform image is guaranteed on the outside.

The floor covering is a PVC floor in wood plank look from Amtico, series "Spacia" in the color "Ebony Wood" (S-W 2511). The wall color and curtains are white. The window blinds are cream. The ceiling is an acoustic ceiling (Odenwald) in the color white. For the ceiling design, we chose an Odenwald grid ceiling in white. The company Odenwald Faserplattenwerke GmbH (www.owa.de) offers a branding for ceiling tiles: With this system, you could design the entire ceiling to your liking, if desired. The room sponsor is given the option of designing the wall covering at the head end of the bed as well as sticking on the furniture. In principle, the room sponsor is responsible for the production and application of the bed covering and the adhesive foils. A regional service provider can be arranged.

The bed linen is provided by the food hotel and is white in color. In addition, the room sponsor can provide additional pillows and a bedspread at his own expense. However, the provision of own bed linen is not possible. Likewise, the room sponsor provides pictures and accessories at his own expense.

You also have the possibility to design your unique supermarket themed room free from the standard mobilization, which is composed of the supermarket shelf components. There are no limits to your creativity and branding.

The on-site equipped bathroom has a washbasin, shower and toilet. All walls are ceiling-high equipped with bright (white) tiles. The floor covering is a PVC floor in wood plank look from Amtico, series "Spacia" in the color "Ebony Wood" (S-W 2511). As with the room design, the room sponsor can apply moisture-resistant and residue-free removable adhesive film, e.g. on the mirror or tiles, at his own expense. Accessories, an additional stool, pictures or lighting are further design options. As a special highlight, the glass shower can also be "branded" with foil from the outside. Presentation options in the ceiling area are also conceivable here.

It is very important for us to be able to present the idea or the "story" of the room to as many
hotel guests as possible. For this purpose, each room sponsor should design a DIN A1 poster for the hotel corridor.

The poster is uniformly displayed in the supermarket-type poster frame next to the room door in the hotel corridor.
