15 Years of Food Hotel – Unique from Day One
On September 3, 2010, the Food Hotel opened its doors for the first time—and surprised everyone with a concept unlike any other in the world. A hotel with a supermarket theme? With rooms designed entirely in the style of well-known brands? That’s exactly what has set us apart from the very beginning—and kept us unique to this day. Whether it’s Raffaello, Prinzenrolle, or Veltins: Our themed rooms tell stories, create atmosphere, and deliver that famous “aha” moment at check-in.
About half of our 113 rooms are now themed rooms; the rest were added during an expansion in 2016 and offer modern comforts in a clean, functional style. Our meeting rooms have also been continuously upgraded and now offer everything modern business guests expect—including that special food hotel touch that makes events unforgettable.
Our concept remains the same—the technology is getting smarter
But while our unique concept has continued to delight guests for 15 years without change, there have been significant advancements in terms of amenities and technology. We continuously invest in new technologies to make our guests’ stays even more comfortable and modern. Today, we offer, among other things, a convenient self-check-in option that gives our guests more flexibility when arriving and departing. Our service is complemented by a charming service robot and a cocktail machine, which ensure a special experience in our “Bildungslücke.”
Sustainability is also important to us: With our own solar panels on the roof, we generate a large portion of our electricity ourselves and are constantly expanding our offerings in the area of electric mobility. Our electric vehicle charging stations are available to our guests at all times, and our e-scooter and e-bike rentals will be available again soon.
Our 15th anniversary is not just a time to look back, but above all an opportunity to look ahead. We remain curious, creative, and committed.
